COPEINCA annually reviews the business policy of the company and the principles that leads the company regarding sustainability issues. By the end of 2016, the eleventh review was finished and reaffirmed the policy and sustainability challenges that serve as a basis for guiding the company's activities.
This policy focuses on activities in Environmental and Social Responsibility (RS) that are implemented on a daily basis with the support of strategic allies, through programs focused on the welfare of the main stakeholders. Over the last few years, we have developed programs with our neighboring communities that respond to the initial diagnosis carried out during 2011. The relationship with the Producers Associations of Fishmeal and Fish Oil (APROs) has also been strengthened. A community development plan has been implemented and responds to an initial mapping developed at each processing plant. Workshops and roundtables were held in Chimbote and Piura in order to receive direct feedback from the main stakeholders regarding the organization's sustainability performance.
Finally, COPEINCA demonstrates its transparency through the dissemination of relevant information. For this reason, it was the first Peruvian fishing company to present an audited Sustainability Report in 2005 and since then has been reporting its management in social, economic and environmental matters.
